SMP for men

Your natural looking hairline awaits – scalp micropigmentation for male hair loss

Male pattern baldness, or androgenetic alopecia, is the leading cause of hair loss in men. This condition affects up to 85% of the male population at some point in their lives.

Some men feel confident without their hair, but others may wish they had some scalp coverage. Plus a great hairline adds definition and character to your face.

Hair loss is not uncommon. The primary factor is genetics, which makes hair follicles on the scalp sensitive to the hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Over time, this sensitivity causes the hair follicles to shrink, resulting in progressively finer and weaker hairs until the follicles stop producing visible hair altogether. Typically, this condition begins with a receding hairline and can advance to significant thinning at the crown and top of the head as well.

Types of Hair Loss in Men

The progression of male pattern baldness is classified using the Hamilton-Norwood scale. Beginning at stage 1 and indicating minimal hair loss, the scale progresses to stage 7, where total baldness on the top of the scalp is noted.

Men categorized under Norwood 1-3 exhibit mild-to-moderate recession of the hairline. Stages 4-5 show severe frontal hair loss and significant crown thinning. Stages 6-7 represent nearly complete or complete hair loss on the top of the scalp. There are also  less common variants, such as diffuse thinning across the scalp without hairline recession or isolated crown hair loss.
